Garden of Weaving

Keeping the lost art of basketry and weaving alive using sustainable foraged materials.

Unique and sustainable creative experience

Sustainable creative workshops to inspire you to use what’s available in your local area and bring people together through the art of sculptural, functional basketry, and weaving.

Keeping alive the lost art of using sustainable foraged materials. We believe that by connecting with nature and utilising what it provides, we can create beautiful and functional pieces while also reducing our impact on the environment.

Small Group Workshops in a Tranquil Setting

Our workshops are held in an inviting studio space, nestled in a tranquil 1-acre garden with a gentle creek running through it. The serene surroundings provide the perfect backdrop for your creative journey.

Our guided garden tour introduces you to various plants, learn how to identify them, forage for them, and prepare them for weaving.

Balance your Spirit

It’s a holistic experience that connects you with nature in a place of healing, deepening your understanding of sustainable art practices.

Our ancestors all made baskets to cook, store, carry, hunt and gather as our survival depended on it. This was a very important part of passing down ancient traditions and culture. Coming together to weave or stitch in our modern world allows space for us to connect and share whilst learning ancient skills and inspiring others to be creative.

Create a life of calm, wellbeing, connection with nature and healing.

In the busyness of the modern world, there is a need for us to slow down and just be present. Connecting to nature as our ancestors once did, on a daily basis, is fundamentally a part of a human beings existence that we largely seem to have lost along the way.

The weaving process will bring you into a calming and meditative state, whilst allowing you time to explore your creativity and connect with others.

Creating art in a sustainable way that is waste-free is important to us.

We will inspire you to think about how creativity can be nurtured without impacting the environment.

Some heartfelt messages from recent workshop attendees.

I had the pleasure to attend a wonderful basket weaving workshop by Cath Inmam. I was immediately wowed when i arrived at her bright and beautiful studio surrounded by her lush gorgeous garden. Cath gently guided and taught us how to weave the vines from her garden into an original basket (masterpiece) what fun! Another one of the highlights was a gentle stroll through her garden over her spring fed natural creek to her edible garden. I was inspired by the natural arts pieces she made, enhancing the garden. It was the most fun I've had in a long time and highly recommend it. I can't wait to attend the next one. Cath you’re a legend and inspiration!

“It was an absolute delight! A wonderful experience using weaving techniques in such a beautiful place, with a stunning garden. Cath is a wonderful instructor, amazing artist and beautiful soul.” Kamila

I recently did a basketry workshop with Cath and it was amazing! Cath is a patient, encouraging and knowledgeable facilitator and a talented artist. The day of the workshop was incredibly hot, but we were super comfortable in her beautiful studio. The refreshments provided (which were mainly from Cath's garden) were nourishing, nurturing and delicious! This was an inspiring creative experience and it was wonderful to be able to produce a couple of baskets to take home. I have just booked in for my next workshop with Cath, it's hard to stop at one!

I learned tonight my Goddaughter will walk down the garden path at her wedding to a song by Robert Plant. It’s called “All The King’s Horses”. Within the lyrics it says… “I’ll weave a circle round the sun…” Sara, my Goddaughter is a professional singer. I will weave her a circle of love from my jonquil fronds because I know I can. I learned how to do that at an amazing workshop with Cath Inman. Cath taught me how to weave with garden “goodies” but her beautiful garden is stunning and mine quite modest. However, I’m now so excited to find fronds in my own garden and have them hanging in my shed ready to weave into a love token for my precious Sara.
